SALES REPRESENTATIVE -  Kwazulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Limpopo ( Territory Sales Manager – Visioncare )

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE OF JOB

Responsible for sales development and maintenance within a designated territory for the Vision Care portfolios. Has a specific sales target to achieve and operates within the policy guidelines.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Planning and Implementation

  • Develop and implement plans for achieving individual territory target.
  • Meet sales target within own territory through continuous planning and monitoring.
  • Implement promotional activities effectively and provide feedback on strategy.
  • Effectively utilise your allocated marketing budget to develop and grow key customer relationships within your assigned territory. This may include planning and implementing sales promotions, customer events, or other marketing activities. The goal is to maximize the return on investment from your marketing spend, by driving sales growth and customer satisfaction in your territory.
  • Attend industry meetings, conferences, and trade shows as required.

Customer Management

  • Optimally use the customer management system (Repwise) for customer-related activities.
  • Maintain a minimum Expected Call Rate of 8 Optometrist per day.
  • Ensure adherence to Call Coverage and Frequency expectations.
  • Establish and foster relationships with key customers and opinion leaders.
  • Travel as needed for business-related tasks such as meetings or events.

Communication and Reporting

  • Report all relevant and strategic information of events in the field to the Business Unit Head.
  • Monitor competitor activities and relay relevant information to the Business Unit Head.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to Sales, Marketing, and Finance Departments in a timely manner.

Initiative and Improvement

  • Be proactive, use personal insights to develop customers, grow sales and achieve targets.
  • Initiate training of customers as needed.
  • Maintain and improve product knowledge.
  • Identify potential issues limiting business sales and growth and propose solutions.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/ TRAINING

(e.g. professional qualifications, on-the-job training, education)

 

Qualification required:

  • Matric
  • A valid driver’s license, as travel within the region is expected

 

Qualification advantageous:

  • Tertiary qualification in science or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE

(e.g. health care industry, multinational company, number of years, what level/types of roles, etc)

 

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 3 years as a sales representative in South Africa's private healthcare sector, servicing diverse market segments (e.g. Optometrists, Ophthalmologist, GPs, Pharmacies, etc.).
  • Proven record of success in sales, territory management, and diligent work habits.

 

Experience advantageous:

  • Specific experience relevant to this role (e.g., Ophthalmic, etc.).
