Overview

The Senior National Accounts Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving growth and strengthening relationships with key national accounts in the generic pharmaceutical sector. This position focuses on developing long-term partnerships, identifying business opportunities, and ensuring seamless execution of commercial strategies. The role requires a deep understanding of pharmaceutical distribution channels, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams to deliver best-in-class customer service and optimize product launches.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build & develop long term customer relationships with key customer decision makers by identifying an understanding of their business structure, strategy & strategic priorities.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key strategic customers that help identify business opportunities to drive incremental sales & growth
  • Leverage business intelligence reporting analytics & tools to proactively identify potential business opportunities & threats
  • Collaborate cross functionally with various internal business partners (Customer Service, Credit, etc.) to ensure best in class customer service and limited disruption to service.
  • Lead & negotiate product offerings & contract updates with customers which includes coordination with commercial contracting & legal teams to ensure timely & effective execution.
  • Maintain consistent dialogue with the commercial marketing team that optimizes the following situations:
    • Commercial launch of products & strategy for the launches
    • Share customer & competitor insights (i.e. shortages, competitor launches) to proactively prepare for a strategy  
  • Fielding customer inquiries which include but are not limited to the following:
    • Price challenges
    • Product Opportunities
    • One Time Buy Inquiries
    • Backorder & Re-supply timing  
  • Attendance of key industry trade shows/meetings as well as travel to key strategic accounts for on-site meetings as necessary.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 4+ years of commercial pharmaceutical experience with a specific focus on the generic industry
  • Existing relationship(s) with Generic Customers
  • In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution channels (wholesale, retail, GPO) is required
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams including senior management
  • Financial & analytical skills necessary to evaluate the business performance, market opportunities & the implications of business decisions/strategy.
  • Strong management skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management throughout the organization.
  • Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $170,000.00 and $210,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
