Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for medical affairs initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical development, and regulatory teams to translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear and compelling messages for different target audiences.
  • Create and manage the production of scientific materials, including scientific publications, medical education materials, medical information resources, and slide decks for scientific presentations.
  • Support the planning and execution of scientific conferences, symposia, and advisory board meetings, including developing scientific content, coordinating logistics, and managing relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on medical communications activities, including publication planning, opinion leader engagement, and medical information dissemination.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and legal, to ensure consistency of messaging across different communication channels.
  • Stay up to date with the latest scientific and medical advancements in the ophthalmic field and communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, such as Good Publication Practice and industry codes of conduct.
  • Manage external vendors and agencies, including medical writers, graphic designers, and event management companies.
  • Other job responsibilities as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of medical affairs function in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of clinical development processes, including clinical trial design, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to medical communications and scientific publications.
  • Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and clinical trial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in utilizing digital communication platforms and tools.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MS, PharmD, or equivalent) with a focus on ophthalmology or a related field.

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in medical affairs communications, medical writing, or a related role within the pharmaceutical or medical industry.
  • Previous experience in ophthalmic medical device industry highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing medical communications strategies and tactics.
  • Experience with scientific publications and medical education materials development.
  • Familiarity with key opinion leader management and engagement activities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external vendors.

 

 

As required by New York City’s salary transparency provisions of the New York City Human Rights Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York City.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York City, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $127,500 - $ 172,500

 

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $ 127,500 - 172,500

 

 

As required by Colorado’s Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in Colorado.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For Colorado, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $127,500-$172,500

 

As required by California's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in California.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For California, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $127,500-$172,500

 

As required by Washington's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in Washington.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For Washington, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $127,500-$172,500
