Objective:  Manage projects for business development, tech transfer, capacity expansion, continuity of supply, and maintenance of business.  Lead teams to deliver/transfer, start up, and validate systems and processes for ophthalmic surgical device manufacturing worldwide.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead teams and manage operations projects in the ophthalmic surgical device manufacturing space worldwide.
  • Accountable for successful management of project scope, schedule, budget, and execution for business development (mergers and acquisitions), tech transfer, and maintenance of business projects.
  • Provide financial analysis of projects in progress and under consideration, make data-driven selection of options, and develop business cases
  • Provide regular updates to management and key stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Lead teams through influence to deliver projects on time and within budget while managing scope creep 
  • Act as a liaison between team members, internal stakeholders, senior management, and external suppliers as appropriate. 

 


Qualifications & Experience:

  • BS in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Strong background in Project Management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Highly flexible: comfortable as a leader, contributor, or influencer in all project-related activities across all functions. Capable of stepping in and providing support to teams and senior leadership in a variety of areas or leveraging subject matter experts to understand and communicate issues.
  • Outstanding communication skills required. Must be able to clearly articulate project status, successes, challenges, and options as appropriate to all levels of the organization
  • PMP certification or other Specialized Project Management training a plus.  
  • 10+ years’ experience managing projects valued at $10M+ 
  • 5+ years’ experience as an individual contributor in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment (Medical Device/Pharma/Life Sciences) strongly preferred. 
  • Position requires strong communication and interactive skills, capable of working independently or on project teams as required.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $151,000.00 and  $180,000.00.  The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance,  a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
