Information Management (IM) is a key business capability required to become a data-driven organization and enable digital transformation at Bausch + Lomb. In this role, the Data Engineer will ensure Bausch + Lomb leverages data as an asset. This position will be a part of our growing Global information management team with the ability to increase our capabilities and provide timely, accurate, and reliable data products to analytics, reporting and downstream system’s consumption. This person must be comfortable in operating in a fast-paced, "startup" type environment. This role reports directly to the Director, Information Management.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role are:

  • Lead data governance, data, reporting and analytics products independently.
  • Build and integrate data from a variety of internal and external sources into a common warehouse data model. 
  • Establish, build, and monitor data quality metrics.
  • Ensure the integrity of data obtained during the varying processes performed in the department or acquired from 3rd Party data sources.
  • Write queries as needed to execute responsibilities, with the ability to perform data analysis and data-driven problem solving.
  • Coordinate execution of ad-hoc data report and analysis requests.
  • Define and govern rules for data values, structure, and user access.
  • Provide coordination of operational process enhancements.
  • Manage vendor relationship, both as suppliers and B+L contractors
  • Embed in cross-functional Agile delivery squads, leading data product teams to navigate data governance and build data-driven functionality for our customers and employees.
  • Collaborate cross-functionality with Product, Design, Engineering, and Business counterparts to help deliver value for customers and employees.
  • Contribute to building information management related policies, standard operating procedures, and framework for data governance.
  • Engage with the industry to understand and apply best practices to build excellence in customer data.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or MedTech industry with a minimum of 4 years of demonstrated data engineer experience in the enterprise landscape, delivering end to end data products.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerBI required Snowflake a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, PowerPoint, Visio, Word and SQL writing capabilities to investigate the data anomalies across various systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical & MedTech data including HCP, HCO, industry standard data sets and best practices. 
  • Effective communication and organization skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and ongoing projects at the same time.
  • Solid understanding of the contractual process.
  • Proven ability to be technically independent, driving efficiency in the management of data assets.
