OBECTIVES/PURPOSE:

Serve as team leader / member by coordinating all available resources both internal and external applicable to the maintenance of facilities and equipment.  Provide support to all areas of operation within the distribution facility, oversee various facility vendor contractors, manage capital and maintenance budgets, and support various site projects from conception through completion. 

 

KEY ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as team leader / participant by coordinating all available resources both internal and external applicable to the maintenance of facilities and equipment. 
  • Justify, implement, and validate various cost and utilization improvements.
  • Provide technical support for various internal and division wide distribution projects including AutoCAD layouts, maintenance standards, etc.
  • Risk assessment and implementation of maintenance processes.
  • Communication of project activities, analysis and results as well as validation of new or modified maintenance equipment and/or processes.
  • Recognize cost reduction opportunities and investigate potential options to realize savings.
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions which will utilize current technology, maintain flexibility, and remain within budgetary constraints while not compromising employee safety or product quality.
  • Supervise Maintenance Technicians and oversee all Maintenance responsibilities including vendor contractors.
  • Provide support for various security operations in including security camera maintenance and security video surveillance, manage facility access code and key distribution, and maintenance of all security systems.
  • Provide oversight and administration for the site Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Building Management System (BMS), and site Warehouse Temperature Monitoring System.
  • Manage annual maintenance budget and capital expenditure plan.
  • Manage spare parts inventory.
  • Prepare maintenance schedules, develop maintenance procedures, generate work orders, monitor PM compliance, inspect facilities, and recommend necessary repair and maintenance, assign work to qualified team members and occasionally inspect the quality of performed maintenance work.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and any updates to maintenance staff.
  • Supervise Facilty Maintenance Technicians
  • Project management, security system, capital budget, and maintenance activities of the Lynchburg Distribution Center.

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

  • This position will provide ongoing day-to-day support for the distribution facility while serving as a team member on various projects.  This includes effective relationships with Operations, Engineering/Automation, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • This person needs to be highly organized, able to meet time commitments and lead a team to work effectively within their organization.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree desired, preferably in the Engineering discipline.  The person should have at least 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a distribution / manufacturing environment.  Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
  • Experience with FDA, GMP, and ISO standards preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively withal levels of the organization.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, communication and writing skills, ability to analyze technical issues, define/solve problems, establish project plans and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs of parts equipment.

 

The person must also demonstrate solid team development skills and must be able to sustain strong working relationships with members of management, staff, and suppliers.
