Quality Inspector R&I (Receiving & Inspection) 2nd Shift Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 10:00pm
Purpose of Job:
Performs inspections of components used in the manufacturing of finished product.
Utilizes statistical sampling plans to perform the required inspections for incoming components per the applicable B+L specifications.
Verifies that the shipping conditions of components were acceptable, and that material labeling is in agreement with the information provided on the suppliers CoA / CoC.
Assists in the investigation for nonconforming components.
Effectively communicates with B+L Planning, Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Engineering when necessary.
Performs physical and electronic segregation of any nonconforming material.
Assists in the Investigation and additional inspection of components associated with any process related issues that occur during manufacturing.
Dispositions material following inspection completion.
Key Activities:
Utilizes statistical sampling plans to inspect and disposition components to be used by manufacturing operations. Documents the inspection results on the Receiving Inspection Report. Performs incoming inspections of all components to ensure compliance with B&L specifications and SOPs. Documents inspection results in accordance with good documentation practices. Dispositions incoming components in the electronic inventory management system. Responsible for the physical and electronic segregation of nonconforming materials, or materials under evaluation due to performance related issues. Assists with the supplier qualification process by performing all required tests and communicating the results. Performs supplier requalification's as required.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma / GED required.
Experience: 2-3 years prior manufacturing or inspection experience required. Prior exposure to visual and dimensional inspection required. Previous inspection experience using balances and gauges preferred.
Preferred Skills: Computer skills using MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Warehouse Management System (eRPLX) and Document Management System (Documentum). Proven math skills to include the ability to work with fractions and decimals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated. Good people skills. Must be able to communicate with a cross functional team and management concerning quality issues. Decision-making ability and ability to work unsupervised expected.
