Purpose of Job:

Improve mean time to repair (MTTR) and mean time before failure (MTBF) of equipment/process breakdowns through analysis and improvement with the engineering and maintenance team.  Capable of leading and supporting automated process and packaging equipment reliability projects in the manufacture of liquid solution Medical Device products.

 

Key Actitives:

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring that B+L Greenville’s equipment and processes operate at optimal levels and meet the needs of the organization. Their main goal is to increase equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency.

They achieve this by analyzing data, identifying problems, and developing solutions for potential equipment issues before they occur.

 

  • Monitors equipment MTTR and MTBF performance to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct the Maintenance Review Board to determine root cause for all high impact issues and to determine appropriate action to minimize in the future.
  • Perform spare parts analysis on critical equipment and proactively mitigate obsolescence risk.
  • Deploying root cause analysis methods and tools on problems or failures that have resulted in consequential impacts related to machine downtime and / or maintenance expense.
  • Key driver for Continuous and Process Improvement.
  • Developing and implementing reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs in conjunction with maintenance team
  • Conduct failure modes effects analysis of critical manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor, evaluate and improve the preventative maintenance  program effectiveness
  • Explore technology and industry best practices and incorporate in reliability program as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • Facilitate internal resources and outside vendors in developing technical solutions for equipment reliability. Support associated documentation, training, and validation.
  • Will review, revise, and write WIs, SOPs, PMs, for maintenance, set-up and troubleshooting of equipment

Scope of Position:

The Reliability Engineer will lead and support automated process and packaging equipment reliability projects in the manufacture of liquid solution Medical Device products.  The reliability engineer is responsible for finding potential problems or opportunities for improvement by analyzing data and identifying patterns within that data. Once problems have been identified, the reliability engineer will develop and implement solutions to prevent them, ultimately improving the reliability of systems, equipment, and processes.

 

Qualitications:

ISO-9000, GMP, medical device manufacturing experience a plus.

 

Education:  BS/MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical or similar Engineering discipline required

 

Experience: prefer 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing process, automation, and equipment with experience in continuous improvement and reliability.  Green belt certification a plus.

Proficient use of Power Bi and Minitab is a plus.
