The Director, Human Resources serves as the senior HR leader for Bausch + Lomb's Greenville, South Carolina manufacturing facility and the Lynchburg, VA distribution center. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources – Global Product Supply, this role partners closely with site leadership teams to develop and execute people strategies that support operational excellence, colleague engagement, talent development, quality, safety, and business performance.
As a key member of the Greenville and Lynchburg leadership teams, the HR Director leads all aspects of the employee lifecycle and provides both strategic and hands-on HR leadership in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence—including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, and HR Administration—to develop and execute integrated people strategies that support business objectives, drive workforce effectiveness, and enhance our colleagues’ experience. The HR Director also ensures compliance with employment laws and company policies while fostering a culture aligned with Bausch + Lomb's commitment to quality, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Greenville Plant Leader and site leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Partner with business leaders to improve colleague engagement, retention, productivity, and organizational performance.
- Support implementation of enterprise HR initiatives and ensure alignment with corporate priorities.
- Lead workforce planning efforts to ensure the site has the talent and capabilities required to meet current and future business needs.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop recruitment strategies for manufacturing, technical, quality, engineering, and leadership positions.
- Identify workforce trends and develop strategies to address turnover, skill gaps, and retention risks.
- Foster a positive employee experience and maintain a productive work environment built on trust, accountability, and respect.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Build HR capabilities that support both strategic partnership and operational execution.
- Model strong leadership, business acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience supporting manufacturing or operations environments.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, consumer products, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Experience managing an HR team and building strong capabilities is desired.
- Proven success serving as the lead HR partner for a manufacturing facility or operations organization, with demonstrated experience challenging the status quo, identifying improvement opportunities, and leading people-focused initiatives that strengthen operational performance, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success supporting organizational change, talent management, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Strong employee relations experience with knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
