Objectives / Purpose of Job:  Management of physical parts/MRO inventory items and related PeopleSoft inventory system.


Key Activities / Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate purchasing of new or replacement parts for Rochester Manufacturing Operations through monitoring of inventory levels and adjusting re-order details as required.
  • Oversee the entry and input of inventory data, part numbers, descriptions, including utilizing PeopleSoft to ensure efficient look up capabilities.
  • Complete sign-out transactions on a daily basis and educate internal customers on how to utilize a scan gun and sign out sheets to ensure accuracy of remaining inventory.
  • Assist with periodic cycle counting.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve any purchase order, delivery or receipt concerns.
  • Review slow (3yr +) moving items and determine appropriate on-hand quantity required; recommend items for removal from inventory as appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory levels in house and/or at supplier to ensure supply chain continuity.
  • Seek out any cost-saving opportunities through review of vendors, while ensuring inventory quality and examining cost vs. volume purchasing possibilities.
  • Review open purchase orders and monitor lead times and shipments in order to meet delivery requirements and utilize P-card for any immediate/urgent need items for appropriate departments.
  • Organize physical inventory area for safe and efficient storage.

Qualifications / Trainings:

  • Effective organization and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously required.
  • Effective communication with peers and suppliers  both verbal and written is critical. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS office suite of products required.
  • Ability to work independent or in a team environment. 
  • PeopleSoft Requisitioner/PO Maintenance.
  • PeopleSoft Inventory a plus.
  • Omniflow experience a plus.
  • Documentum (GDMS) experience a plus.



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required with 4 (four) or more years of experience with inventory or within a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing and automated equipment a plus.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting hourly pay for this role is $18.28 - $24.73/hour.
