Objective: responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process including, but not limited to, set-up and tear down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and workflow. Other aspects will include assisting with mold base tear downs, repairs and PMs.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with any offline mold base rebuilds or mold base PM’s, repairs or paperwork.
  • The majority of this job is disassembling and reassembling mold bases.
  • Ownership of the molding process from raw material supply to intermediate product hand off on the line.
  • Supporting operations by removing and installing mold bases for the PM process per the PM schedule.
  • Troubleshoot / diagnose mold base issues (leaks, wear, alignment, etc..) this includes mold base or plate swaps.
  • Troubleshoot mold bases in and out of the press and having a good handle on the most efficient way to complete the repair.
  • Basic machining is required this involves running milling machines and lathes.
  • Work closely with plastics engineering to understand process drivers and part dimensional conformance.
  • Review and revise SOPs that apply to specific job duties.
  • Assist with any offline mold base rebuilds or mold base PM’s, repairs or paperwork.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Sumitomo Demag molding machines helpful but not necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical apprenticeship or associate degree in related mechanical field preferred but job experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge in GD&T standards.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting hourly pay for this role is $20.97-$32.16/hour.
