Objectives:

The Senior Planner’s main objectives are:

  • Maintaining schedules for all the lines assigned to them and assure its doability by checking for material and tool availability.
  • Managing the order activity to allow product to flow from Rochester to all the locations who should directly receive our product. They should work with the shipping department to make sure the physical flow aligns with the information flow. 
  • Manage inventory and capacity as agreed in the Supply Agreement meeting and with the Manager/Leader.
  • Manage and reduce backorders for all Rochester produced products through scheduling, priorities where needed, and suggesting or realigning capacity.

 

Plans are based upon agreed inventory targets, global sales data and manufacturing capacity plans and will be aligned with the Sales and Operations Planning process. As part of this the Senior Planner is responsible for managing and monitoring inventory levels of all Rochester manufactured lenses in the Rochester Plant, in transit to and in inventory at all global distribution centers and for communicating to the Planning Manager any potential shortfalls or excesses in manufacturing capacity.  The Senior Planner is responsible for ensuring manufacturing schedules are driving the production of the right SKU’s in the right quantity at the right time to maximize customer service while optimizing manufacturing efficiency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • SKU Planning.
  • Plan finished lenses, mold inventory and other components as required.
  • System setup of new products as required. 
  • Publish backorder reports daily and update ATP information as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor DC SKU inventory levels against target.
  • Prioritize products as required based on information received from Customers.
  • Maintain communication with Operations on backorder and low limit SKU’s.
  • Maintain communication with Customer services and DC’s regarding customer queries & expected ship dates.
  • Provide guidance and direction for junior team members.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • APICS membership preferred.
  • Global supply chain planning experience.
  • Knowledge of Manugistics (JDA) Demand Planning, Fulfillment, Master Planning.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft desired.
  • Knowledge of and experience in shipping items to various international locations.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of salary for this role is $75,000 - $120,000.
