Objectives:

Manage and coordinate process and project engineering activities to support 7x 24 fabrication of contact lenses.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute all aspects of equipment qualification and process validation activities for new and / or modified equipment and processes.  Writes and coordinates execution of test strategies, engineering studies, equipment/process qualifications and process validations.
  • Provide process-engineering support for ongoing vision care operations to drive continuous improvements in quality, unit cost, and process efficiency.
  • Develop / utilize performance-tracking tools and initiate actions to identify actions / projects that increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and other key process indicators.
  • Support and/ or manage cost improvement, qualiy improvement, reliability, maintenance of business, and new product projects including scope, resources, execution, timing and financial activities.
  • Support and/or oversee technical transfer initiatives from Research & Development nto the Manufacturing operation.
  • Create and manage Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
  • Ensures project compliance to company policies and quality directives including change control, validation, NC/CAPA.

 

Requirements:

  • BS required in an Engineering discipline. Mechanical or Electrical preferred but will consider other disciplines with appropriate work experience.
  • 3-5 years in Technical Support or Technical Project role demonstrating a progression of skills.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and controls concepts related to equipment automation required.
  • Process validation and change control experience required.
  • 1 year minimum of medical device experience required.
  • Innovation, project management skills, strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Specialized Training: LEAN / 6 Sigma experience preferred. Project management training preferred.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting pay for this role is $73,000 – $112,000 annually
