Work schedule:  Monday - Friday; 4:00 am - 12:30 pm. 

Objectives:

Responsible for the creation of monomer mixes for product lines (balafilcon A,  Polymacon and/or Zeus) ensuring precision and accuracy in measurements and limiting errors that would cause significant financial loss to the company.  This work is integral to manufacturing continuity and for the maintenance of existing product lines.

Responsibilities:

• Performs Distillations of key components used in monomer mix.
• Mixes numerous raw material components together in a defined process to manufacture the final monomer mix used to make contact lenses.
• Independently, evaluate and maintain the Kanban inventory system for monomer. needed in manufacturing with the fluctuations in production.  Make decisions to adjust the volume of monomer production and intermediate preparation based upon Plant needs.
• Perform analytical analyses on both incoming raw materials and monomer mixes to ensure a high level of quality.  
• Successfully complete, maintain and increase training such that cross training/extended knowledge base occurs.
• Maintain a clean work area and properly dispose of waste in the area to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
• Provide timely completion of duties to meet departmental and company goals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge/previous experience with Chemical Distillation processes.
• Experience with chemical mixing/compounding preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 to 100 lbs.
• Ability to come in on “off” shift hours or work overtime to support Plant chemistry testing needs.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting hourly pay for this role is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour.
