Objectives:

Develop and implement integrated, state-of-the-art equipment control systems for medical device manufacturing platforms, products and cost improvements. Provide controls support to automated medical device manufacturing equipment in a 24 x 7 operation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support product, platform, and cost improvement programs by delivering and / or updating qualified machine controls and PLC / SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software. 
  • Interface with equipment vendors to ensure successful machine integration and delivery. 
  • Interface with Quality, IT and Operations to validate software systems. Generate protocols / reports and deliver results.
  • Develop and implement technologies and systems to improve cost and quality of existing medical device products. 
  • Develop global automation requirements and implement solutions for product line and/or capacity expansions.
  • Effectively plan work activities and deliver status of project activities on a regular basis.

 

Education:

  • BS in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Computer Systems Engineering, or other similar technology degree, required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with machine control systems including PLC’s, motion control, and control systems software. 
  • Experience working in a cGMP / FDA regulated environment desirable. 
  • Experience working with Lean Six Sigma tools desirable.
  • Computer literate across Microsoft Office portfolio; CAD experience desired. 
  • Experience with equipment build, process automation, and medical products in a medical device environment a plus. 

 

 

 

 

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $70,500 - $105,000
