The Senior Manager, FP&A will be an integral member of the FP&A group and will support the Research and Development (R&D) organization by providing key information for decision making, performance measurement, risk management and strategic planning. 


Major Areas of Responsibility


  • FP&A business partner to the Global R&D organization, with primary focus in Project Spending / Analytics, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance
  • Providing reporting and analytics on budget vs. actual results, forecasting, budgeting, and risks/opportunities
  • Develop strong business relationships with R&D leadership, Project Management, Clinical, Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance teams
  • Provide analytical, accounting and reporting support to the Project Management team, including monthly fluctuation explanations of actuals vs. plan/forecast
  • Responsible for the overall financial stewardship of business partner expenses, which includes ensuring the provision of adequate internal controls and safeguarding of assets
  • Coordinate month and quarter end closing activities, including accruals, accounting transaction research, and correcting entries as needed with the strict adherence to corporate reporting deadlines
  • Work closely with Senior Director, FP&A to prepare annual budget and forecast updates for business partners and maintain the updates in Hyperion
  • Coordinate R&D’s capital budget and forecast process, tracking actuals
  • Assist the Senior Director, FP&A with ad hoc projects in support of organizational initiatives



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance is required
  • 8+ years of Accounting/Finance experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Interested candidates must possess high ethical standards, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong technical and analytical skills, and be a team player
  • Prior Research and Development Finance or pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel, including senior management
  • Strong computer skills with an ability to use advanced Excel spreadsheet functions and formulas to build and maintain reports used for budgeting and forecasting
  • Hyperion experience a plus
