Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst will be a critical member of the Global Manufacturing & Supply FP&A group and is responsible for month end close transactions, preparation of account reconciliations and analysis and review of financial information.  This position also provides financial and accounting support to the Engineering, Procurement and Global Quality teams.

 

major areas of responsibility

  • Analyze COGS, margins, purchase price and production variances
  • Responsible for planning and forecasting for various business partners
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly account reconciliations
  • Record monthly adjusting entries and accruals
  • Analyze inventory reserves and calculate projected obsolescence
  • Prepare and analyze standard monthly management reports
  • Assist with compiling annual standard costs
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are reconciled monthly
  • Provide analytical, accounting and reporting support to the US Engineering, Procurement and Global QA organization, including monthly fluctuation explanations of actuals vs. plan/forecast
  • Capital expenditure financial and narrative development and tracking
  • Monthly review of global obsolescence and variance analysis
  • Monthly review of global months on hand and variance analysis and generate reports
  • Monthly capital & expense project variance analysis

 

Other duties

  • Responsible for all SOX compliance related to the above duties
  • Assist in month end reporting including account reconciliations, JE organization, and compilation and analysis of reporting package
  • Assist in quarterly and annual financial and SOX audits
  • Assist the Consolidation group during quarter end close

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILL/ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance is required
  • 4+ years of Accounting/Finance experience required, Public Accounting experience a plus
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong technical and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills with an ability to use advanced Excel spreadsheet functions and formulas to build and maintain reports used for budgeting and forecasting. Hyperion experience a plus
  • Prior inventory, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
