The Director, Pricing & Contracting will lead the development of pricing and contracting strategies for in-line and launch products, monitor and assess government policy change and related business impact and support B+L pricing committee. Responsibilities include but not limited to the key areas outlined below:

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead pricing strategies and manage all the activities relating to pricing such as annual price action, new product launch pricing proposal, and pricing and payer research.
  • Develop strategic contracting options to optimize the net profitability of company products in managed care segment. Ensure that strategies are integrated into and aligned with brand profitability objectives.
  • Help monitor the success of pricing and contracting strategies through defined performance measurement techniques and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with finance and cross functional teams on annual budget, forecast and gross-to-net assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain a pricing report and other relevant pricing reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, reporting requirements and state and federal laws.
  • Monitor, understand and assess potential business impacts of federal policy changes across our portfolio; track and maintain a list of relevant Risks & Ops.
  • Support B&L Pricing Committee (prepare agenda, develop presentations for leadership review and guide the preparation of requisite documentation to achieve cross company approval of strategic pricing decisions)
  • Think strategically and develop new reports that are relevant to access, pricing, reimbursement and contracting space by leveraging data and digital tool.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or other critical thinking major; advanced business degree (MBA) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis in finance or strategic/product functions with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in pricing or contracting; experience in contract negotiation and account management desirable.
  • Ability to lead others collaboratively including account management, brand management, strategic planning, legal, finance and other key stakeholders.
  • Clear, implementable understanding of health economics, financial analysis and return on investment.
  • Applies appropriate interpersonal styles and communications methods to influence and build effective relationships with business partners (peers, functional partners, external vendors and alliance partners) typically senior management.
  • Analyzes and uses qualitative and quantitative data and incorporates understanding into decision criteria.
  • Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense of urgency.
  • Understands and utilizes economic, financial, and industrial data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, as well as able to analyze and act on threats and business opportunities.

 

Note: This role is eligible for our hybrid work schedule allowing for up to 2 days/week of telecommuting from home and 3 days/week in our Bridgewater, NJ corporate office.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $200,000.00 and $240,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives.
