This role sits within the AI / Digital Center of Excellence (CoE) and works closely with senior AI engineers, product owners, and business partners to help translate workflows and processes into scalable, production‑ready AI solutions.

This role is build‑focused and execution‑oriented, with an emphasis on learning modern AI agent patterns, enterprise engineering practices, and responsible AI delivery. You will contribute to AI agents that analyze information, use tools, and automate defined business tasks under the guidance of more senior engineers. This role has no people management responsibilities and is designed to develop strong technical and consulting foundations over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support AI‑first process transformation: Assist in analyzing business workflows, SOPs, and decision logic to identify opportunities for AI‑enabled automation and efficiency.
  • Workflow decomposition & documentation: Work with senior engineers and business SMEs to document workflows and break them into structured, agent‑ready steps (e.g., reasoning, execution, validation, escalation, human‑in‑the‑loop).
  • Build and enhance AI agents (hands‑on): Contribute to the development of AI agents using Python and approved frameworks to perform defined tasks, call APIs, and follow procedural logic.
  • System and data integration support: Help integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, workflow tools, and approved data sources following established patterns.
  • Assist with secure production deployment: Support deployments using enterprise AI platforms (e.g., Azure AI Foundry) with proper access controls, monitoring, and reliability practices.
  • Responsible AI & quality practices: Implement guardrails, testing, documentation, and evaluation techniques to ensure safe and reliable AI behavior.
  • Agile delivery participation: Contribute to sprint planning, backlog execution, testing, and iterative releases in collaboration with IT, data, security, and platform teams.
  • Continuous learning: Stay current on AI tools, agent architectures, and enterprise deployment practices, applying learnings under guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, automation, data engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Hands‑on exposure to LLM APIs and/or AI agent frameworks, with at least some experience contributing to shipped solutions (internships, co‑ops, or production work).
  • Ability to follow structured problem‑solving approaches and translate guidance into working code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with enterprise cloud or AI platforms (e.g., Azure‑based AI or data services).
  • Exposure to multiple LLMs or models and an understanding of trade‑offs such as cost, latency, and quality.
  • Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with security, compliance, or data‑privacy considerations.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, or consulting‑style problem solving.
