OBJECTIVES/
PURPOSE OF JOB

 

Responsible for Direct and Indirect Sourcing and Procurement support of R&D and MOB Projects related to Ophthalmic Packs and Equipment; includes all sourcing activities, contract negotiations, setting up new parts and transferring to production after part approval.

KEY ACTIVITIES/
RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responsible for Sourcing and Procurement support of R&D and MOB Projects related to Ophthalmic Packs and Equipment; includes all sourcing activities, contract negotiations, setting up new parts and transferring to production after part approval.                       
Collaborate with all functions on effectively managing supply base to ensure high level of performance and strong customer service.

Attend project meetings with technical team.

Responsible for delivering established cost savings targets through competitive bidding process and effective negotiation of supply and service agreements.  Manage all supply base costs and ensure contract compliance.  

Complete risk mitigation projects for assigned product categories.

Responsible for performing all aspects of sourcing and procurement activities in support of major initiatives including stakeholder requirement analysis, identification of bidders list, RFP/RFQ development, conducting competitive bid events, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, risk mitigation, supply continuity, and supplier performance.

Collaborate with internal customers to create thorough business requirements and incorporate in sourcing strategies and resulting agreements.  Persuade internal clients to engage Procurement as a strategic versus tactical partner while communicating Procurement value.  Maintain high level of communication across the organization.

Responsible for Sourcing and Procurement support of R&D and MOB Projects related to Ophthalmic Packs and Equipment; includes all sourcing activities, contract negotiations, setting up new parts and transferring to production after part approval and locating new sources.
Focuses on Sourcing Calendar opportunities to complete Procurement Agreements and Risk Mitigation projects.
Acts as back up to other project buyers during absences.
Saves all POs and order confirmations to shared folders.
Completes Strategic Sourcing Forms, Sourcing Justification Forms and Capital Expenditure Requests.
Completes Lease Assessment for all Contracts.
Stores all contracts to the Sourcing and Procurement contract repository.
Processes Contract Approval Forms (CAFs) for Supply Agreements and assigned projects.
Processes non-project specific CAFs for Site Director, HR, MOB Engineering & Warehouse departments.
Issues artwork to Suppliers through ELM.
Provides training to colleagues
Vacations scheduled to ensure project coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS/
TRAINING

(e.g. professional qualifications, on-the-job training, education)

 

Bachelor’s degree with related experience required.  MS/MBA/CPM/CPIM a plus.

Knowledge of molded plastic parts and understanding of injection molded tool builds, electronics, mechanical parts, and valves.
Good organizational and project management skills are essential for top performance.

EXPERIENCE

(e.g. health care industry, multinational company, number of years, what level/types of roles, etc)

 

Minimum of 5 years procurement/sourcing experience, preferably within a multi-plant or multi-divisional business.  Experience in logistics or production planning, a plus.  Proven experience in RFI/RFP/RFQ development, evaluation, negotiations, execution, and contract management.  Demonstrated proficiency in developing procurement strategies which comprehend and contribute to overall business objectives is a must.  Candidate must have applied experience in the understanding of legal issues, contractual principles, and negotiation techniques used in the development of complex contractual agreements.  Candidate must have ability to follow technical discussions related to product development.  In addition, the candidate must have the ability to actively participate on regional multi-functional teams, a proven capability in workload management, exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving skills, and significant experience with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with MRP and e-procurement tools a plus.
