Objective:
Develop and establish inspection and measurement methodologies for components and subassemblies.  Participate in supplier qualification and corrective action activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate on cross-functional project teams during design and development to establish and define quality requirements for new or revised products.
  • Develop, establish and qualify methodologies for mechanical inspection methods including creation of necessary inspection procedures.
  • Create set-up fixtures and programs for automated/non-contact inspection equipment (e.g., CMM, SmartScope, Keyence, etc.). 
  • Coordinate and perform Measurement System Analysis as required. 
  • Perform routine inspections as required.
  • Serve as a technical lead for inspection-related problem solving, investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in supplier qualification activities. 
  • Collaborate with cross-function teams to implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in mechanical inspection, dimensional metrology, or quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated industry preferred. 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. 
  • Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and their application. 
  • Thorough knowledge of dimensional inspection  and measuring equipment and their methods of use. 
  • Demonstrated ability to program and operate automated inspection systems, including coordinate measuring machines (CMM’s), vision inspection systems, optical comparators and related metrology equipment.
