OBJECTIVES/
PURPOSE OF JOB

 

Design and develop ophthalmic surgical equipment firmware / software for embedded microprocessors and generate control algorithms for implementation in software and /or instantiated into programmable logic.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES/
RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Design, implement and document firmware for embedded Kinetis and Coldfire microprocessors in C++. Generate new firmware requirements documents and modify existing documents. Test code prior to release
  • Ensure proper design documentation, and verification testing is performed. Function as a technical interface in the use of outside design houses. 
  • Working with other engineers, develop algorithms as needed for code. .
  • Other duties as assigned.

Individual Contributor, working exclusively at the St. Louis site, working within the St. Louis product development group but also working closely with manufacturing and with external suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS/
TRAINING

 

 

Required Education:

 

Bachelor of Science degree in: mathematics computer science, Engineering. Equivalent experience may be considered.

 

Preferred Education:

 

 

 

Preferred Skills:

 

Proficiency in C, C++, and RTOS

 

Required Experience:

 

Course work and experience working with micro controllers.

 

Preferred Experience:

 

NXP Kinetis processor experience / MQX or RTOS helpful.
