Objectives/Purpose of Job:
The Systems Controls/Automation Engineer I will provide support to the Tampa facility in a variety of automated projects, systems, and processes in sterile pharmaceutical and consumer products manufacturing and packaging. This position works cross functionally and brings together all areas of the organization from planning / purchasing to manufacturing and quality to ensure that the expectations of the internal customer are met. Travel up to 15%.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:
- Support improvement projects and support daily operation of process automation systems including aseptic filling and packaging line equipment (cartoners, bundlers, case-packers, palletizers, printers, labellers, vision systems, robotics).
- Support engineering projects including scope, resource planning, budget activities and project execution timeline.
- Identify innovative technical and process solutions that drive the desired performance in cost, quality, compliance, customer service and revenue.
- Interface with internal customers and external suppliers as required.
- Provide ongoing technical support including training and the creation of required documentation for new manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Provide technical and process support to operations as a Subject Matter Expert to troubleshoot and resolve downtime situations in a timely manner.
Qualifications/Training:
- BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant Automation experience preferred.
- Candidate will possess leadership skills, good written and verbal communication skills, project management skills, good problem-solving skills, experience with process flow, data collection, and root cause analysis, and experience implementing preventive and corrective actions.
- This is a 1st shift exempt position and will require On-call support when business and project needs require it.
- Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, or another regulated industry is a plus.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Gown certification needed; training provided.
- Be available to work weekend & nights as required to support projects.
- This position is on-site; remote work is not available.
Eligibility for Internal Applicants:
Have no corrective actions at the written warning level in last six months / no final warning level in the last 12 months / no active PIP.
Meet the qualifications of the position as stated above.
Be in your current job for 12 months.
