Objectives/Purpose of the Job:


Conduct routine and non-routine microbiological testing and environmental monitoring to support sterile manufacturing. Ensure compliance with cGMP standards, assist in investigations, and support continuous improvement and validation activities.


Key Activities/Responsibilities/Job Function:
•    Prepare equipment/supplies/paperwork for EM/laboratory testing
•    Don appropriate attire including lab coat, scrubs, coveralls, or sterile garment as required
•    Collect viable and non-viable samples from facility cleanrooms/personnel
•    Collect critical utility samples (WFI, Milli-Q, Clean steam/Compressed Air)
•    Perform Bioburden and Endotoxin for water samples.
•    Document sample collection/testing/results in accordance with good documentation practices (GDP)/ALCOA principles
•    Incubate/read samples
•    Record data into GLIMS
•    Prepare culture media/diluents for microbiological testing
•    Operate EM/Laboratory equipment including:
•    Metones, SAS, Pinocchio, incubators, temperature charts, Endoscan, LFA/BSC, manifold and others.
•    Perform visual inspection of media fill units for turbidity/microbial presence
•    Perform Plate Reads, plate transfers and submission for microbial identification
•    Perform non-routine monitoring/testing in conjunction with laboratory investigations and validation activities
•    Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies
•    Conduct training and coaching of junior Technicians and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in various areas.
•    Review and revise EM/Laboratory procedures for enhancement, clarity, corrections, etc.
•    Perform Safety Walkthroughs, GEMBA walks to ensure proper safety practices are performed.
•    Assist with data compilation and preparation of trend reports and investigations OOS, OOT, LIRs.
•    Perform minor environmental monitoring investigations.
•    Assist with EM team scheduling
•    All other duties as assigned


Qualifications/Training:
Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Biology, or equivalent Life Science required.
•    4-6 years of relevant work experience in a cGMP compliant industry required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
•    Ability to lift and/or carry 25 lbs
•    Ability to achieve 20/20 correctable vision
•    Ability to maintain proper personal hygiene
•    Ability to wear laboratory PPE/attire/Garments for prolonged periods of time
•    Ability to gown aseptically and work in a controlled environment for extended periods of time (no makeup, jewelry, fingernail polish, etc.)
•    Ability to work on closed spaces and heights.

•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•    Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management
•    Ability to work well with others
•    Ability to read, write, and speak English
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
•    Ability to work full-time, onsite, including overtime and weekends if necessary to meet department / site objectives
•    Ability to understand and accurately comply with SOPs, test methods, and cGMP/GDP requirements.
•    Excellent aseptic techniques knowledge.
•    Strong communication skills (oral and written)
•    Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.) 
•    Strong organization skills / attention to detail
•    Strong work ethic (on time, highly motivated, etc.)
•    Strong knowledge of microbiological testing / environmental monitoring techniques 
 
Eligibility for Internal Applicants:                                                                                                          
•    Have no corrective actions at the written warning level in last six months/no final warning level in the last 12 months / no active PIP.  
•    Meet the qualifications of the position as stated above.         
•    Be in your current job for 12 months.                                                                                                   
•    Position applying for must be a step up in progression and not a step down.

Shift: Sunday - Thursday / 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Start Pay Range:
$31.73
