Objectives/Purpose of Job:
Manage the Microbiology Department in agreement with all regulatory requirements. Drive Quality improvements of products and processes through active participation in inter departmental areas.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:
⦁ Key role in transfer of Microbiological methods and specifications for new products and processes.
⦁ Manage the microbiological testing and disposition of finished product, stability, validation and raw material samples.
⦁ Provide aseptic manufacturing and Microbiological testing expertise, including oversight and guidance for site engineering, R&D and contract manufacturing projects.
⦁ Responsible for the GMP compliance of all functions and processes of the areas in charge and responsible for continuous improvement.
⦁ Implement quality systems to reduce product testing time and increase timely response to customer requirements.
⦁ Responsible for human and financial resources within the departments, including periodic evaluations against plans and standards.
⦁ Manage the Environmental Monitoring program fully supporting manufacturing activities and site monitoring.
⦁ Lead the facility Environmental Review Board and represent Tampa in global forums.
⦁ Representative for the Microbiology testing function at customer and regulatory audits.
⦁ Review of laboratory investigations and performance of Non-Conformance Investigations. Representative for the MRB.
⦁ Responsible for the compliance of supervised employees to training policies.
⦁ Assume responsibility for the GMP and Environmental Human and Safety procedure awareness, and compliance within the respective area as well as for management of the Microbiology.
Qualifications/Training:
⦁ A minimum of Bachelor's degree in life sciences.
⦁ Former Pharmaceutical manufacturing is required.
⦁ Training in Aseptic processing, scheduling, budgeting and investigational skills a must.
⦁ Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong leadership skills, time management, planning and organization capabilities.
⦁ Proficiency in operating a personal computer and various office equipment is required.
