Objective:

 

Responsible for driving operational excellence through process optimization, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and execute operational excellence initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement across manufacturing operations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements that reduce waste, improve flow, increase capacity, enhance labor efficiency, and strengthen overall manufacturing performance.
  • Analyze current production processes, material flow, equipment utilization, labor allocation, and process constraints to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and variability reduction.
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement projects using tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, visual management, line balancing, mistake-proofing, SMED, and daily management systems.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events and improvement workshops, ensuring clear problem definition, data-driven analysis, action planning, execution follow-up, and measurable results.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues, quality deviations, downtime events, scrap, rework, yield loss, and process instability using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, and A3 thinking.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain corrective and preventive actions that address systemic causes and prevent recurrence of operational and quality issues.
    Establish, track, and interpret key performance indicators including OEE, productivity, downtime, scrap, rework, labor efficiency, schedule adherence, throughput, and cost improvement metrics.
  • Partner with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, engineering, and EHS teams to ensure improvements are practical, compliant, sustainable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Coach and train operators, technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional partners on Lean principles, problem-solving methods, standard work, visual management, and continuous improvement behaviors.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee involvement by engaging shop floor teams in identifying problems, testing solutions, and sustaining improvements.
  • Ensure improvement projects deliver measurable and sustainable results, including cost savings, productivity gains, quality improvements, reduced downtime, improved service levels, and increased operational stability.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Principals (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work).
  • Demonstrated success implementing measurable process improvements that increased efficiency, reduced waste, and improved quality.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis, data-driven problem solving, and statistical process control (SPC).
