Objective:

The Automation Systems & Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation systems and manufacturing equipment used in the production of medical devices.

The position combines hands-on engineering, system architecture leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust, scalable manufacturing solutions. Serves as the technical support for automation and controls projects from concept through validation and production deployment.

 

Responsibilities:

The Systems / Controls Engineer will support multiple automation and systems integration projects and provide ongoing manufacturing and process improvement support.  Project work may include controls systems design and implementation, systems integration, automation equipment builds, and equipment/systems improvements to existing manufacturing equipment. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation systems, controls engineering, and equipment development.
  • Experience developing automated equipment for regulated manufacturing environments (medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar).
  • Background in: PLC programming; HMI/SCADA systems; Motion control systems; Industrial robotics; Machine vision systems; Industrial networks and fieldbus systems Safety Guarding
  • Experience with automation architecture, system integration, and complex equipment development.
  • An understanding of manufacturing process development and automation design principles.
