Objectives/Purpose of Job:


  • Maintaining schedules for product lines assigned to them and assure that they are achievable by assessing material inventories and manufacturing capacity.
  • Managing and monitoring inventory levels at source DCs, in transit to and inventory at all global distribution centers and communicating to the Planning Manager any potential shortfalls or excesses.
  • Ensuring manufacturing schedules are driving the production of the right SKUs in the right quantity at the right time to maximize customer service while optimizing manufacturing efficiency.


Key activities/Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain production schedules.
  • Review of raw material availability vs production needs to ensure schedule can be executed.
  • Maintain the ERP system.
  • Work closely with purchasing and incoming quality to insure material availability.
  • Maintain and monitor DC SKUs inventory levels against target.
  • Maintain communication with Manufacturing on any changes to production schedule.
  • Manage and reduce backorders through scheduling or assigning priorities where needed.
  • Maintain communication with DCs and Commercial teams.
  • Manage new product launches.
  • Assess, monitor & communicate anticipated finished goods & packaging component obsolescence
  • Collaborate with procurement on start and end dates for artwork changes and packaging components
  • Develop strategy for production builds to mitigate risk from MDR approvals after required implementation date of May 23, 2024
  • Create and manage offline MPS files by product to show the capacity requirements by month Communicate timings on artwork  / SKU changes – that may trigger registration requirements for other countries outside EMEA
  • Collaborate with RA  / SC for those countries on inventory management strategies to facilitate those transitions
  • Highlight supply risks in units and revenue dollars of any potential supply gaps
  • Collaborate with Production planners and DC’s on New product set-ups for new SKUS


Scope of Position:


This role will have responsibilities of managing customer needs against supply capabilities ensuring a high level of customer service while staying within inventory targeted ranges.  Will work closely with manufacturing, quality and demand planners.  This role requires knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes along ERP systems.



  • Supply Chain planning experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills throughout all levels of the organization. Detail oriented with very good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of ERPLx systems, MS office products with emphasis on Excel.
  • Knowledge of Manugistics and PeopleSoft.
  • BS in Business or Management Sciences, Excellent communication skills throughout all levels of the organization. Detail oriented with very good organizational skills.
  • Computerized MRP systems, MS office products with emphasis on Excel.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • 5-10 years of supply chain/manufacturing experience in pharmaceuticals or other process related industry.
