OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE OF JOB

Setup, maintain and operate production line equipment to produce intraocular lenses according to production specifications and standards.

KEY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and maintain lathing and milling equipment associated with IOL production. This includes daily checks/calibrations, lot setup and verification and tooling changes.
• Perform inspections to verify accuracy of machining against specifications to maintain quality and performance standards using set up equipment.
• Conduct initial troubleshooting for defect causes and machine problems. Make minor mechanical repairs as required to maintain production specifications and standards.
• Perform manufacturing operations as necessary to maintain production throughput.
• Assume leadership role for equipment you are responsible for
• Report unusual conditions and problems to supervisor and practice good housekeeping. Support, encourage and participate in team related activities, report ideas or suggestions to supervisor.
• In addition to the listed duties, the associate is normally expected to perform other similar related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Proficient in math and reading.

Desired Experience:

• Effective communication skills needed to provide clear and concise communication.
• GMP and ISO training.
• A minimum of 1 or more years' experience with lathes/milling machines
• Lathing experience including setup and tool changes preferred, good organizational skills a must.
