The Regional Sales Director is responsible for the leadership and direction of sales and in-field marketing activity within a specific U.S. regional area for B+L’s Pharmaceutical brands. The Regional Sales Director oversees a team of 6-10 Managers directly who lead teams of 50-100 Territory Managers. Duties include hiring, training, development, evaluation/retention of key talent, compensation, account targeting/promotional activity, and deployment of both human and financial resources. The Regional Sales Director needs to have a sound business understanding to be able to develop action plans, effectively use operating budgets, identify/analyze regional business trends specific to opportunities and challenges in the marketplace and to make decisions that will support the overall sales and profit objectives. The Regional Sales Director plays a key role in the development, implementation, and execution of regional strategies through effective cross-functional collaboration with teams including Marketing, Training, Human Resources, Medical Affairs, and Payer Access teams.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership: 

  • Analysis, insight, and direction of business priorities to ensure regional consistency
  • Ensures achievement of sales forecast and operational budgets 
  • Develops strategic objectives for field execution of promoted brands 
  • Attracts, Develops, and Retains key talent in core positions across region with priority on promotion of future leaders
  • Fosters a winning Culture exemplified by positive, inclusive, and diverse contributors

 

Market Leadership: 

  • Builds a network of customer and industry contacts critical to organizational success
  • Attends conferences meeting with Key Accounts to assess current/future needs 
  • Exhibits mastery of account knowledge and competitive trends within the market
  • Weekly field visit with Managers and/or Representatives to measure and assess promotional consistency and impact for key brands

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Leads 1:1 formal strategic sessions with direct reports (Managers) to drive growth
  • Monitors consistency and coaching of Managers resulting in effective performance management and mentoring of Representatives
  • Oversees deadlines for Managers and Representatives for all deliverables including expenses, compliance, training, etc
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams providing ideas and insights to assist with future initiatives
  • Effectively deliver executive level presentations to senior management and customers 
  • Successful customer integration with B+L partners (OTC, Vitamin, Lenses, Surgical, Retina, etc)

 

Role Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business or Marketing or related field is required
  • 10+ years sales experience in competitive market along with 3+ years of successfully documented prior sales management expertise leading winning teams is required
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, forecast, and budget is required
  • Ability to travel (overnight) up to 65% with some weekend conference attendance is required
  • PC skills (Microsoft tools) is required
  • Driving, Valid driver's license to travel to customer locations/or other method of transportation to perform duties (i.e. co-travels, account calls) is required
  • MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare specific to ophthalmic industry is preferred
  • Preferred candidate location: CA, OR, WA, AZ, NV, NM, CO, UT

 

As required by California's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in California.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For California, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $215,000 - $250,000.

 

As required by Colorado’s Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in Colorado.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For Colorado, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $215,000 - $250,000.
 

As required by Washington's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in Washington.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For Washington, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $215,000 - $250,000.
