Position Overview:
Bausch + Lomb is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, R&D Operations who will act as a key business partner for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer R&D team. This individual will manage day-to-day R&D operations and drive strategic initiatives. This role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities effectively. The R&D Operations Manager must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority. This role reports to the SVP, Pharmaceutical and Consumer R&D.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•  Drive operational effectiveness within the department through establishing systems, processes and overall business infrastructure.
•  Manage end-to-end event planning logistics for advisory boards, expert panel meetings, and collaboration joint/research/development committee meetings encompassing organization, scheduling, contracting, and execution for in-person and virtual formats.
•  Act as the main liaison to drive contracting from initiation through completion and maintenance, coordinating handoffs between cross-functional partners such as finance, procurement, contracting/legal, information technology and other administrative functions.
•  Enable vendor and technology assessment, procurement and as necessary onboarding.
•  Track department-level budgets, including forecasts, expenditures, and accruals.
•  Coordinate team logistics, e.g. department meetings and travel arrangements as appropriate.
•  Preparing and editing department wide communications, presentations, reports, and documents.
•  Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling inquiries and communications with professionalism and discretion.
•  Assist in onboarding new employees and organizing employee events.

 

Education and Experience
•  BA/BS required, advanced degree preferred.
•  Minimum of 8 years of professional industry experience with a successful track record in strategic operations.
•  Previous experience in pharma R&D.
•  Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including senior executives.

•  Excellent command of MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
•  Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $120,000 and $184,000.  The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance,  a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
