As a Senior Manager, Medical Affairs, you’ll collaborate with industry experts, shape medical strategy, and support successful product launches for Bausch + Lomb’s growing contact lens portfolio. You’ll partner across Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and Marketing to drive evidence generation, guide promotional review, and help bring cutting‑edge medical device solutions to market. The Senior Manager Medical Affairs reports directly to the Director, Vision Care Medical Affairs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains partnerships with key industry thought leaders to support strategic Medical Affairs initiatives.
  • Leads and coordinates Medical Affairs activities to ensure successful launches of Vision Care products.
  • Participates in the Promotional Review Committee, providing scientific review and guidance on promotional materials.
  • Collaborates with Medical Excellence to drive medical strategic planning, develop and maintain Medical Affairs dashboards, ensure adherence to SOPs, and support ongoing optimization of Medical Affairs operational frameworks.
  • Works cross‑functionally to generate scientific claims support for new product development and lifecycle management of Bausch + Lomb medical devices.
  • Partners with the Global Medical Communications team to develop abstracts, posters, white papers, and peer‑reviewed manuscripts.
  • Enhances strategic cross‑functional collaboration to support new product development and strengthen the Bausch + Lomb contact lens portfolio through effective lifecycle management.
  • Point of Contacts/Thought Leaders areas:
    • Internal: Clinical and Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, Research & Development project teams, Quality teams, Post Market Surveillance teams, North America Marketing
    • External: Eye Care Practitioners, Third-party vendors, Regulatory agencies
       

 

Requirements:

  • Education
    • OD degree or an advanced degree (MD, PhD) in a scientific, biological, or clinical discipline.
    • Advanced degree strongly preferred, particularly with experience in contact lens medical device research.
  • Experience:
    • 2yrs+ of proven experience conducting clinical trials, evaluating clinical outcomes, and authoring or contributing to clinical research publications.
    • Strong strategic and operational thinking skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective networks.
    • Demonstrated analytical capability to interpret complex issues and understand potential implications.
    • Ability to identify challenges proactively and drive timely solutions.
    • Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable navigating shifting priorities.
    • Highly collaborative team player with experience working across cross‑functional teams.
  • Preferred:
    • Medical Device experience
    • Familiarity with cornea and contact lenses areas

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $140,000.00 and  $200,000.00.  The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance,  a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
