Junior Master Data Specialist

 

Role Description:

The Junior Master Data Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's financial and accounting master data within the Shared Service Center. Under the guidance of senior team members, they will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the company's financial master data.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Validate financial data entries by cross-verifying, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data within the system.
  • Assist in the development and roll-out of a master data management strategy to maximize the company's data utilization.
  • Adhere to a tight control environment which abides by the company's previously defined internal control framework​
  • Safeguard sensitive financial data by adhering to robust data security measures and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Identify, analyze, and promptly resolve any data discrepancies or quality issues to ensure data accuracy.
  • Help coordinate regular data backup processes to prevent loss and ensure data availability during contingency scenarios.
  • Maintain data consistency across various systems, ensuring harmonization of data, particularly during system integrations and migrations.
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders, understanding their data needs, providing custom data extraction, and offering assistance with data-related inquiries.
  • Keep track of data quality thresholds and performance indices, continuously monitoring data quality metrics and reporting key insights to superiors.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data procedures, data dictionaries, data models, and other related data directives for future reference and effective internal communication.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in data management tools and systems​, preferably SAP
  • Fluency in English required

 

Competencies:

  • Highly detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Customer service-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cash application software and accounting systems is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with an excellent Excel working knowledge
