The GL Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the general ledger department within our Shared Service Center supporting the South European region. This role includes the supervision of the day-to-day processing of transactions, ensuring accuracy in entries, and leading monthly and annual account closing procedures, both US GAAP and local statutory.
Roles and Responsibilities:

- Overseeing the operations of the General Ledger system, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
- They will ensure the implementation and adherence to a tight control environment which abides by the company's previously defined internal control framework
- Managing accounts, preparing financial statements, and conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
- Conducting detailed analyses of financial statement accounts to improve understanding of financial performance and to identify potential issues.
- Leading monthly and year-end closing procedures and adjustments postings.
- Maintaining a robust system of internal controls (especially SOX) to safeguard the company's financial assets.
- Reviewing and approving journal entries prepared by the team.
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors for periodical audits, ensuring all required data is readily available.
- Training, supervising, and mentoring a team of general ledger accountants.
- Ensuring adherence to all financial regulations and staying up-to-date with changing legislation.
- Prepare and execute VAT and other local statutory filings
- Collaborating with in-country Human Resource and other local stakeholders
- MA in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- SOX audit related experience will be an asset
- 2+ years in a people management role
- Proven experience as a General Ledger Lead or similar role
- Fluency in English required
- Very good Spanish or Italian will be an asset
