Position Title: Marketing Associate
Business Division: Surgical
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Location: Vaughan, ON
Our Portfolio: Bausch + Lomb has 4 business segments: Surgical, Pharmaceutical, Vision Care, and OTC. Our Ophthalmic surgical portfolio includes technologies and devices for cataract, retinal, refractive and corneal surgery as well advanced technology intraocular lenses to treat cataracts and refractive errors like presbyopia and astigmatism.
Position Description: This is a hybrid position with the expectation of attending the head office in Vaughan in person 2-3 days per week. As the Marketing Associate for the Surgical business, you will be contributing to the performance of Bausch + Lomb’s Surgical business unit dedicated to providing superior ophthalmic surgical equipment to hospitals and surgeons enabling them to improve patient outcomes. You will work across the entire spectrum of the Surgical business, covering cataract, retinal, glaucoma and refractive segments. This position will involve working with the Surgical Commercial Leadership Team (including the marketing manager, sales directors, and business unit director) and the cross-functional team, to create, implement, and advance key strategic marketing deliverables in a highly dynamic and evolving medical device market. You will have a unique opportunity to work on multiple products and multiple portfolios, including new product launches.
Primary Responsibilities: Working with the Marketing Manager and the Business Unit Director, this role encompasses:
- Creating and executing annual marketing strategies and tactics.
- Developing sales materials, training, and communication activities.
- Maintaining strong collaboration and alignment between Regional Business Directors and head office by ensuring excellent execution of marketing plans and tactics.
- Coordinating all respective brand‐marketing initiatives with the sales force to achieve the annual and mid‐term sales and market share objectives.
- Assisting with coordination of materials and activities at conferences.
- Liaising with agencies on marketing materials creation and inventory management.
- Creating internal competitive reference materials.
- Performing market analysis to gain pulse on the surgical market.
- Synthesizing complex, scientific data and communicating the key messages in an effective manner for the commercial team.
- Establish and track performance against Commercial KPIs.
- Ad-hoc involvement in marketing projects, cross-functional initiatives, and/or training.
- Visiting customers in the field to understand the business and gaps to identify areas of improvement and/or novel solutions.
- Attending relevant sales / regional meetings, national sales meetings, and conferences
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, science or technical education preferred.
- Previous corporate / relevant work experience preferred.
- Desire to learn quickly and be exposed to new challenges.
- Hands-on, execution attitude.
- Comfortable with ambiguity yet with the ability to drive change and make things happen.
- Works with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management experience, having worked on cross-functional teams.
- Building strategic, working relationships to facilitate accomplishment of goals.
- High Digital IQ preferred.
- Ability to travel.
