OBJECTIVES/ PURPOSE OF JOB

The incumbent is responsible for providing end-to-end supply chain support—including demand and supply planning, logistics, and physical distribution—for the Vision Care, Surgical, and Pharma business units across Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Manage and provide proper guidance and training to the Supply Chain team.
•    Coordinate and monitor 3PL and 4PL activities related to inventory, warehousing, and secondary assembly within the scope of GDPMD, ensuring service KPIs are met.
•    Collaborate with distributors on demand forecasts, order replenishment, invoicing, and goods receipt.
•    Monitor and track inventory issues, escalating unresolved matters to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution.
•    Manage inventory targets—including safety stock levels, fill rates, and months-on-hand (MOH)—as approved by management.
•    Prepare and present reports on forecast accuracy and inventory performance versus targets to management.
•    Monitor inventory at the SKU level and recommend rationalisation or adjustments based on demand trends.
•    Manage and monitor backorders, shipments, and freight-related issues.
•    Maintain and improve documentation and SOPs for the Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes.
•    Oversee inventory reconciliation and reporting.
•    Lead process improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain team.
•    Lead cross-functional collaboration to implement best practices and streamline operations.
•    Manage the supply chain budget and review operational performance against plans.
•    Oversee the development and implementation of staff training plans.
•    Ensure stock rotation and inventory management are performed in accordance with internal procedures.
•    Coordinate with manufacturers or distribution centres to resolve stock discrepancies during goods receiving.
•    Communicate product storage and transportation requirements clearly to 3PL partners.
•    Coordinate product disposal activities with 3PL, 4PL, and relevant internal departments.
•    Maintain accurate distribution records, including for implantable medical devices, in compliance with GDPMD.
•    Ensure that the Local GDPMD Quality Management System is effectively implemented and maintained within the Supply Chain department.
•    Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/ TRAINING

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
•    Fluent in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.

 

EXPERIENCE

•    Minimum of 6 years’ experience, including warehousing and distribution within a 3PL-managed environment, focused on order fulfilment in the medical devices industry and an order-to-cash business model.
•    At least 2–3 years in a managerial or leadership role with a proven track record of leading supply chain teams.
•    Experience managing end-to-end supply chain activities, including demand planning, warehousing, inventory control, distribution, and logistics.
•    Familiarity with Malaysian customs regulations and import/export documentation requirements.
•    Exposure to working with 3PL/4PL providers, warehouse automation, and transportation partners in Malaysia.
•    Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and forecasting tools (e.g., JDA).
•    Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
•    Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
•    Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
•    Good understanding of supply chain KPIs, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
