This position is based in our Waterford manufacturing site.

·The Automation Engineering Manager will have overall responsibility for leading, managing and developing the Contact Lens Automation Engineering team while actively
engaging as a key member of the Contact Lens Engineering management team to deliver the Company’s strategic vision and mission. As Automation Engineering Manager,
you will promote as a role model the corporate values internally and externally.
 
·The Automation Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of automation projects within the organization. This role involves coordinating
with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and budget, while ensuring high-quality standards and alignment with strategic goals.
·The person will over-see the Automation function within the Contact Lens Engineering group and Lead the design and implementation of complex automation solutions,
ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with industry standards.
·Management of Automation Engineers within the Contact Lens Engineering team. Create clarity and direction for roles and responsibilities for the Automation Engineers
within the Contact Lens Engineering team.
·Drive digital transformation initiatives by integrating advanced technologies and analytics into automation processes. Leverage data analytics to optimize performance,
enhance decision-making, and support strategic goals.
·Engage with other stakeholders internally and establish service level agreements and set expectation and guidelines for the development of the group.
·Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including machine vendors and suppliers. Manage vendor performance, and ensure the timely delivery of
equipment and services.
·Ensure all automation solutions meet the required quality and compliance standards.
·Support equipment post-installation to ensure equipment production ramps in line with expectations.
·Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders.
·Demonstrate and model the company’s core values and a commitment to teamwork through their management style and behaviour.
·Ensure that all relevant policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering & Safety are implemented and adhered to
·Management of relevant budgets within agreed targets and preparation of capital expenditure requests for the plant when applicable
·Set annual team goals, completing reviews, growth plans and performance management of the team as well as identifying opportunities to develop personnel.
·Develop a high-performance organisation, lead and manage talent and succession planning for engineering function
·Coach in the application of structured problem solving triggered by data to solve problems and drive improvement.

 

 

 

Requirements

·Level 8 Degree in Engineering Discipline
·Minimum 5 to 10 Years Industry Experience
·Prior experience with new process and equipment introductions.
·Knowledge of system validation processes and experience with Digital Systems and Machine vision technologies.
·Results-driven, striving to meet all targets and metric standards as set by department/site and division leaders
·Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting the predefined quality requirements
·Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new requirements
·Innovative thinking, where new and untested solutions are proposed, demonstrated and implemented on a regular basis
·Excellent record-keeping, communication and reporting skills
·Accustomed to working in a validated environment with strong discipline regarding change control.
·Strong Leadership abilities, with a mentoring approach to team building, training and project leadership
