IT Security Engineer

Bausch + Lomb Dublin are recruiting for an experienced IT Security Engineer.

 

The IT Security Engineer is a hands-on technologist, serving as the technical subject matter expert for the implementation, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of all information security technologies used by Bausch & Lomb.  Responsible to assure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and information systems consistent with good practices, industry standards and applicable regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and publishing information security standards, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with defined requirements
  • Play a significant role in responding to and containing information security related incidents
  • Ensure all devices, applications, services, and product systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards and protected against known industry threats.
  • Provide integration of product development per Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with security policies and continuous improvement of information protection strategies and security maturity.
  • Provides technical security direction on feature implementation & contributes to secure workflows for new product features.
  • Develops, supports, and administers as requested materials to support the business objectives for security awareness and training programs
  • Implements programs for security compliance and monitoring.
  • Keep up with emerging security trends, vulnerabilities, and recommendations
  • Communicate cybersecurity risks and remediation to both technical and non-technical audiences

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Security or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CEH, Security+ or equivalent certifications a plus. 
  • 5+ years’ experience with the roles and differences of the following technologies: security information and event management, enterprise logging data planes, analytical platforms, endpoint detection and response and security orchestration, automation, and response tools
  • Direct experience with many of the following products preferred: Spunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security, Windows Desktop & Server technologies, Linux, LogStream, Syslog, Python, PowerShell and one or more major EDR product.
  • Knowledge of one or more major Cybersecurity Framework(s)
  • Understanding of the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, PCI, and other legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Intermediate knowledge of modern network design and protocols, computer platform design and implementation
  • Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting at any layer of the OSI model
  • Understanding of directory technologies, such as: LDAP, Active Directory and or Azure Active Directory
  • Familiarity with DBMS concepts and technologies, such as: SQL, Oracle and MS SQL a plus
  • Promote a culture of information security across all business units
