Purpose of Position/Overview: 

The Manager, Supply Chain is the leader role responsible for the overall tactical and operational initiatives that support product commercialization efforts, ongoing demand and supply Planning, and Inventory Management for the Lens and Surgical Business Units. In addition, the Planner will manage demand forecast in collaboration with commercial partners, product supply issues and business reporting. As an important partner to Business Unit Leaders, the role is key to the success of our organization and will Interface with internal and external partners to achieve product supply requirements.
 

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and resolve directly or through business partnership any issue affecting the product flow
  • Organize and run forecast consensus meetings (S&OP inspired process) with Marketing, Sales and Finance. Review the forecast bias, supply risks and inventory at risk with the teams and reassess the supply chain strategy for each product.
  • Collaboratively review historical sales, research demand events, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast performance with stakeholders
  • Use statistical modeling in Manugistics and other Excel-based tools and analytics to generate the baseline demand forecast
  • Optimize the supply chain model by brand, by type of product to achieve the balance between inventory and service level to our customers.
  • Oversee the analysis of all the Supply Chain KPIs (Forecast accuracy, Inventory levels, Service level (BO trend), Supply performance).
  • Provide oversight for new product launch/commercialization initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales Operations team to identify opportunities and implement solutions for field assets management optimization
  • Collaborate with global organization on projects affecting the product portfolio and/or the supply network
  • Ensure solid partnership and end to end alignment with key stakeholders: commercial organizations, local and regional supply chain organizations (Plan, Make, Source), Customer, Logistics, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Product Management
  • Work directly with Supply Chain staff on special projects and other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications (Education / Skills / Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years planning experience, preferably within a multi-plant or multi-divisional business.
  • Proven experience in managing demand planning activities in a complex environment.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • SAP and Manugistics experience are a plus.
  • Strong demand and supply planning skills.
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel, analytical & reporting skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be self-starter.
  • Must work well under pressure and can multi-task.
  • Flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks that may not fall within the day-to-day routine.
