We are seeking an experienced Business Unit Director to lead the strategic and operational performance of our Vision Care business responsible for the optometry, pharmacy and grocery channel. This is a senior leadership role with full P&L responsibility, accountable for driving sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and strong customer engagement across Australia. This role will be responsible for:

 

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Vision Care business strategy aligned with global objectives

  • Own annual business planning, forecasting and long‑range strategy

  • Identify and capitalise on growth opportunities through strong market insight and demand analysis

P&L & Performance Management

  • Full accountability for revenue, margin, operating expenses and profitability

  • Set and deliver against sales targets, budgets and KPIs

  • Drive disciplined performance management and commercial decision‑making

Customer & Market Leadership

  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, retail partners, distributors and eye care professionals

  • Lead customer acquisition, retention and engagement strategies

  • Represent the business with key stakeholders, KOLs and industry partners

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing sales and marketing leadership team

  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Support succession planning and talent development across the organisation

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with supply chain and customer service to ensure product availability and service excellence

  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with regulatory, medical, legal and ethical standards

  • Uphold governance, quality and compliance requirements at all times

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Life Sciences (MBA preferred)

  • 15+ years’ progressive senior commercial leadership experience, preferably within FMCG, consumer health, medical devices or eye care

  • Proven track record of delivering sustained growth with full P&L responsibility

  • Strong experience leading national sales and marketing organisations

  • Highly developed strategic thinking and commercial acumen

  • Strong people leadership, coaching and team‑building capability

  • Customer‑centric mindset with excellent negotiation and influencing skills

  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders

  • High ethical standards with a strong compliance and governance orientation
